Kerf & fit calibration kit

Cut this first. Ten small parts tell you how your laser or plasma cuts slots, holes and kerf, so you know which 0.1 / 0.2 / 0.3 mm offset version of a Surkis Fab Files pack to cut, and which hole size suits your 16 mm dogs.

Includes a metric (mm) set and an imperial (inch) set with a 5/8 in hole gauge.

How to use it

  1. Cut the slot coupon for your plate thickness from the same plate, on the same machine and settings, with kerf compensation on.
  2. Push a clean, de-burred offcut of that plate into each slot, starting at +0.0.
  3. The best slot is the tightest one it goes into fully by hand or with a light mallet tap, without rocking.
  4. Pick your pack offset from the offset table and write it on the result card.
  5. Hang the set by the machine. Re-check if you change machine or cut settings.

Good to know

The DXF is drawn at nominal size. Your cutter applies kerf compensation as normal, so it works for laser and plasma.
